Excess Sweating (hyperhidrosis)

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. This condition affects millions of people worldwide and can have a great impact on their quality of life, both professionaly and personally.

Sweating that occurs in certain places only, is known as focal hyperhidrosis. Most often this affects;

  • Underarms (axillary hyperhidrosis)
  • Hands (palmar hyperhidrosis)
  • Feet (plantar hyperhidrosis)
  • Face (facial hyperhidrosis)

Botox works by blocking the neurochemical activity of the nerves which cause the excess sweating. This procedure has been proven to work for 6 - 12 months, greatly reducing hyperhidrosis.

Botox is covered by most health plans for excess sweating.
